E-Clar (125mg/5ml) 60ml Suspension

E-Clar Suspension contains Clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children and adults who have difficulty swallowing tablets. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, preventing bacterial growth and spread. It is effective against infections of the respiratory tract, skin, ears, and sinuses. E-Clar is known for its broad antibacterial spectrum and good tolerance in pediatric use.

Uses

Dosage

• Children: 7.5 mg/kg every 12 hours (twice daily) for 5–10 days, depending on the type and severity of infection.

• Adults: As prescribed by the doctor.

• Shake the bottle well before each use.

• Use the provided measuring spoon or cup for accurate dosing.

• Always complete the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve early.

In Case of Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, or diarrhea. Contact your doctor or seek immediate medical help if overdose occurs.

Missed Dose
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.

How To Use

1. Shake the bottle well before each use to ensure uniform suspension.

2. Measure the dose accurately with a proper measuring device.

3. Can be taken with or without food (taking with food may reduce stomach upset).

4. Continue taking for the full duration as prescribed, even if symptoms subside early.

When Not to Use

• If allergic to Clarithromycin or any macrolide antibiotics (e.g., Erythromycin, Azithromycin).

• In patients with severe liver disease or history of jaundice due to antibiotic use.

• If taking certain medicines like pimozide, cisapride, or ergot derivatives.

• For viral infections such as flu or common cold.

Side Effects

• Less common: Headache, rash, mild elevation of liver enzymes.

• Rare but serious: Allergic reactions (swelling, rash, itching), severe diarrhea, or jaundice.
