E-Clar DS (500mg) 10 Tablets

E-Clar DS 500mg Tablets contain Clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria responsible for infections in the respiratory tract, skin, ear, and other areas of the body. E-Clar DS is also used as part of combination therapy to treat Helicobacter pylori infections that cause stomach ulcers.

Uses

Dosage

• Adults and children over 12 years: 500 mg every 12 hours for 7–14 days, as directed by a healthcare professional.

• For H. pylori infection: Usually taken with amoxicillin and omeprazole for 7–14 days.

• Take exactly as prescribed and complete the full course, even if symptoms improve.

In Case of Overdose
Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Seek immediate medical help or visit the nearest emergency department if overdose is suspected.

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed tablet.

How To Use

1. Swallow the tablet whole with water.

2. Can be taken with or without food (taking with food may reduce stomach upset).

3. Take at evenly spaced intervals to maintain consistent levels in the body.

4. Do not stop treatment early without consulting your doctor.

When Not to Use

• If allergic to Clarithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics (such as Azithromycin or Erythromycin).

• In patients with severe liver disease or jaundice due to previous antibiotic use.

• If taking pimozide, cisapride, ergotamine, or certain statins (risk of serious side effects).

• Not recommended for viral infections like cold or flu.
