Tavanic (500mg) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in different parts of the body. It contains Levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial DNA replication, thereby stopping bacterial growth and eliminating infection. Uses
Tavanic 500mg is indicated for the treatment of:

Lower and upper respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, sinusitis)

Bone and joint infections

Gastrointestinal and intra-abdominal infections caused by susceptible bacteria
Dosage

Adults: The usual dose is 500 mg once daily, but it may vary depending on the type and severity of infection.

Duration: 7 to 14 days or as prescribed by the doctor.

Take the medicine exactly as directed.

Dosage adjustment may be required for patients with kidney impairment.
In Case of Overdose

Symptoms: Dizziness, confusion, tremors, nausea, or seizures.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember.

If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one.

Do not double the dose to compensate.
How To Use

Take orally with a full glass of water.

Can be taken with or without food.

Avoid dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt) and antacids containing aluminum, magnesium, or iron within 2 hours before or after taking the tablet, as they may interfere with absorption.

Continue taking for the full prescribed duration, even if you start feeling better.
When Not to Use
Do not use Tavanic if you have:

Known hypersensitivity to levofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics

History of tendon disorders related to fluoroquinolone use

Epilepsy or seizure disorders
