The B Braun 22G Branula is a sterile, single-use intravenous (IV) cannula designed for secure venous access during infusion therapy, blood transfusion, or medication administration. Apply a tourniquet and identify suitable vein.
Insert cannula bevel-up at a shallow angle.
Confirm venous flashback, advance catheter, withdraw needle.
Secure cannula with sterile tape/dressing.
Connect to IV set or cap the port as required.
Dispose of used needle in sharps container.
If packaging is damaged or sterility is compromised
In patients with severely compromised veins where insertion is unsafe
Do not reuse or re-sterilize (single-use only)
Local site pain, swelling, or bruising
Risk of phlebitis (vein inflammation)
