Oflox (400mg) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It contains Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that works by preventing bacteria from multiplying and repairing themselves, effectively stopping the infection. Oflox is prescribed for infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, soft tissues, and gastrointestinal system, as well as certain sexually transmitted infections.

Dosage

Adults: 200–800 mg per day in one or two divided doses, depending on the severity and type of infection.

Typical dose: 400 mg once or twice daily for 7–14 days, or as prescribed by the physician.

Take with a full glass of water, with or without food.
In case of Overdose
Overdose may cause dizziness, confusion, nausea, vomiting, or seizures. Seek medical attention immediately or contact a poison control center.
Missed Dose
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it’s nearly time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose to make up for it.
How To Use
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Take at evenly spaced times to maintain a consistent level in your blood.
Avoid taking the medicine with milk, yogurt, or calcium-fortified juices as they may reduce absorption.
Finish the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve early to avoid antibiotic resistance.

Precautions & Warnings

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or tanning beds—Ofloxacin can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.

Stop use immediately if you experience tendon pain, swelling, or joint discomfort.

Use with caution in patients with kidney, liver, or heart problems.

Avoid driving or operating machinery if you feel dizzy or lightheaded.

Do not take with dairy products or antacids within 2 hours before or after taking Oflox.
Drug Interactions

Antacids containing aluminum, magnesium, or calcium – may reduce absorption.

Iron, zinc, or calcium supplements – can decrease drug effectiveness.

Theophylline or caffeine – may increase side effects such as restlessness or nervousness.
