Hisopt (2/0.5%) 5ml Eye Drops

Hisopt Eye Drops is a combination medication containing Tobramycin 0.5% (antibiotic) and Dexamethasone 2% (corticosteroid). It is used to treat bacterial eye infections while reducing inflammation, redness, and swelling. Tobramycin eliminates bacteria, and Dexamethasone relieves inflammation and discomfort.

Ingredients
Active Ingredients:

• Tobramycin 0.5% w/v

• Dexamethasone 2% w/v

Inactive Ingredients: Purified water, sodium chloride, boric acid, hydrochloric acid/sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment), benzalkonium chloride (preservative), and other excipients.

Uses

• Treatment of bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis or keratitis

Dosage

• Instill 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 4–6 hours or as prescribed by a physician

• Shake well before use

• Follow the doctor’s instructions for exact dosage and duration

In case of Overdose

• Overuse may lead to elevated intraocular pressure or increased irritation

• Seek immediate medical attention if overdose occurs

Missed Dose

• Apply the missed dose as soon as remembered

• If near the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose

• Do not double the dose

How To Use

1. Wash hands thoroughly before use

2. Tilt head back and pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket

3. Instill 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s)

4. Close eyes gently for a few minutes, avoiding excessive blinking

5. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye to prevent contamination

6. Recap the bottle tightly after use

When Not to Use

• Allergy to Tobramycin, Dexamethasone, or other corticosteroids/aminoglycosides

• Viral, fungal, or tuberculosis-related eye infections

• Untreated glaucoma or ocular hypertension without supervision

Side Effects
Common: Temporary stinging, burning, or irritation
Less Common: Blurred vision, eye dryness, redness, itching
Serious (seek medical help): Elevated intraocular pressure, cataract formation, persistent eye pain, vision changes, severe allergic reactions
