Optachlor (0.5%) 10ml Eye Drops

Optachlor Eye Drops contain Sodium Chloride 0.5%, a hypertonic solution used to relieve corneal edema (swelling of the cornea) caused by conditions such as Fuchs’ dystrophy or after eye surgery. By drawing excess fluid out of the cornea, it helps reduce swelling, discomfort, and blurred vision associated with corneal edema.

Uses

• Reduces corneal swelling and edema

• Improves vision clarity in patients with corneal edema

• Relieves discomfort, irritation, and blurred vision caused by excess corneal fluid

Dosage

• Adults: Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) 4–6 times daily, or as prescribed by a physician

• Shake well before use

• Follow the doctor’s instructions for exact dosage and duration

In case of Overdose

• Overuse may cause temporary stinging, burning, or mild irritation

• Seek medical attention if overdose occurs

Missed Dose

• Apply the missed dose as soon as remembered

• If it is near the time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose

• Do not double the dose

How To Use

1. Wash hands thoroughly before use

2. Tilt head back and pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket

3. Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s)

4. Close eyes gently for 1–2 minutes and avoid blinking excessively

5. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye to prevent contamination

6. Recap the bottle tightly after use

When Not to Use

• Allergy to Sodium Chloride or other components of the formulation

• Use with caution in patients with severe eye infections unless prescribed

Side Effects
Common: Temporary stinging, burning, or mild eye irritation
Less Common: Blurred vision, eye dryness, slight redness
Serious (seek medical help): Severe eye pain, persistent irritation, vision changes
