Vigamox (5mg/ml) 5ml Eye Drops

Vigamox Eye Drops contain Moxifloxacin 5mg/ml, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the eye. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which prevents bacterial replication and leads to bacterial death. Vigamox is commonly prescribed for bacterial conjunctivitis and other ocular bacterial infections.

Active Ingredient: Moxifloxacin 5mg/ml
Inactive Ingredients: Benzalkonium chloride (preservative), sodium chloride, trometamol, hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment), purified water, and other excipients.

Uses

• Treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye)

• Management of other bacterial eye infections

Dosage

• Adults and Children: Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) 3 times daily for 7 days, or as prescribed by a physician

• Shake the bottle gently before use

• Do not exceed the recommended dose

In case of Overdose

• Symptoms may include eye irritation, redness, or mild discomfort

• Seek medical attention if significant overdose occurs

Missed Dose

• Apply the missed dose as soon as remembered

• If it is near the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose

• Do not double the dose

How To Use

1. Wash hands thoroughly before use

2. Tilt head back and pull down the lower eyelid

3. Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac

4. Close the eye gently and apply light pressure to the inner corner for 1–2 minutes

5. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye

6. Recap the bottle tightly after use

When Not to Use

• Allergy to Moxifloxacin or any component of the formulation

• Viral, fungal, or non-infectious eye conditions without physician supervision

• Use caution in patients with a history of eye hypersensitivity

Side Effects
Common: Eye irritation, redness, stinging, blurred vision
Less Common: Eye pain, tearing, mild headache
Serious (seek medical help): Severe allergic reactions, vision changes, signs of infection worsening

Precautions & Warnings

• Remove contact lenses before applying the drops; wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting

• Monitor for unusual eye reactions or signs of worsening infection
