Icef DS (200mg/5ml) 30ml Oral Suspension

Icef DS is an oral antibiotic suspension used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics, which works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, helping to eliminate infections.

Uses

• Treats respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, ear infections, and other bacterial infections

Dosage

• Children: Usually 8mg/kg/day in two divided doses, or as prescribed by a doctor

• Adults: Typically 200–400mg daily, in one or two divided doses, as prescribed

• Always follow the doctor’s instructions for correct dosage and duration

In case of Overdose

• Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal discomfort

• Seek immediate medical attention if overdose occurs

Missed Dose

• Take the missed dose as soon as remembered

• If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed one

• Do not double the dose

How To Use

• Shake the bottle well before each use

• Measure the dose with an accurate measuring device, not a household spoon

• Take orally with or without food

When Not to Use

• Allergy to cefixime, other cephalosporins, or penicillin

• Severe kidney impairment without doctor supervision

• Pregnant or breastfeeding women only under medical advice

Side Effects

• Common: Diarrhea, nausea, stomach upset, mild rash

• Less common: Headache, dizziness

• Rare but serious: Severe allergic reactions, difficulty breathing, swelling of face or throat
