Dalacin C Injection (Clindamycin Phosphate 600mg/2ml) is a lincosamide antibiotic used for treating serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. It is effective against anaerobic bacteria and certain gram-positive infections and is widely prescribed for bone, joint, skin, intra-abdominal, and respiratory infections.

Bone and joint infections (osteomyelitis, septic arthritis)
Intra-abdominal infections (peritonitis, abscesses)

Septicemia and endocarditis (caused by susceptible organisms)
Gynecological infections (pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis)

Adults:
IM or IV: 600–2700mg per day, divided into 2–4 doses
Severe infections: up to 4800mg/day (IV, in divided doses)
Children (>1 month):
8–25mg/kg/day in 3–4 divided doses
Administer IV slowly over at least 10–60 minutes
Symptoms: Severe diarrhea, abdominal cramps, possible C. difficile colitis, neuromuscular blockade
Management: Supportive treatment, fluid replacement, gastric lavage if necessary
Administer as soon as remembered if within a short interval
Skip if close to the next scheduled dose
Do not double the dose
For intramuscular injection (deep) or intravenous infusion (slowly over 10–60 minutes)
Should be administered by a qualified healthcare professional
Rotate IM injection sites to prevent local irritation
Allergy to Clindamycin, Lincomycin, or any formulation ingredient
History of severe antibiotic-associated colitis
Neonates (use with caution, especially premature babies)
Common:
Pain, redness, or irritation at injection site
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
Rash or itching
Serious (seek medical help):
Severe diarrhea (possible C. difficile-associated colitis)
Allergic reactions (swelling, anaphylaxis, difficulty breathing)
Liver problems (jaundice, elevated liver enzymes)
Rare blood disorders (neutropenia, thrombocytopenia)
Monitor liver and kidney function in long-term use
Not effective for meningitis (low CSF penetration)
Risk of superinfections (e.g., fungal infections) with prolonged use
Use with caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding
Inform doctor of history of gastrointestinal disease before use
Erythromycin (antagonistic effect – avoid combination)
Muscle relaxants (may enhance neuromuscular blockade)
Warfarin and anticoagulants (increased bleeding risk)
Antidiarrheal drugs (may mask antibiotic-associated colitis symptoms)
