Xcept 20mg Tablets

Xcept 20mg contains Escitalopram, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that restores serotonin balance in the brain, improving mood, sleep, and emotional well-being. It is commonly used to treat depression, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder.

Uses

Dosage

• Adults: 10–20mg once daily, as prescribed

In Case of Overdose

Symptoms: Dizziness, tremors, nausea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, drowsiness, or seizures

Action: Seek immediate medical attention or contact a poison control center

Missed Dose

• Take as soon as remembered
• If near next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not double the dose

How To Use

• Take orally once daily at the same time
• Can be taken with or without food
• Do not crush or chew the tablet
• Continue even if feeling better; do not stop abruptly

When Not to Use

• Allergic to Escitalopram or components
• Taking or recently taken MAO inhibitors (within 14 days)
• History of severe liver disease or seizure disorders
• Under 18 years unless prescribed by a psychiatrist

Side Effects

Common: Nausea, dry mouth, drowsiness, insomnia, headache, increased sweating, mild appetite or weight changes

Serious: Suicidal thoughts (esp. young adults), irregular heartbeat, severe dizziness, serotonin syndrome

⚠️ Contact doctor immediately if serious side effects occur

• Use caution in heart disease, diabetes, kidney/liver impairment, or bipolar disorder
• Avoid alcohol
• Taper gradually to prevent withdrawal symptoms
