The B Braun 20G Branula is a sterile, single-use intravenous (IV) cannula designed for safe and effective venous access during infusion therapy, medication administration, or blood transfusion. How To Use

  1. Wash hands and wear sterile gloves.

  2. Open sterile package carefully.

  3. Apply tourniquet and identify suitable vein.

  4. Insert cannula bevel-up at shallow angle.

  5. Confirm flashback of blood in chamber.

  6. Advance catheter, withdraw needle.

  7. Secure cannula with sterile dressing/tape.

  8. Connect IV set or cap port as needed.

  9. Dispose used needle in sharps container.


When Not to Use

  • If sterile packaging is torn/damaged

  • In patients with poor venous access or vein trauma at intended site

  • Do not reuse or re-sterilize (single-use device)

  • Localized pain, swelling, or redness

  • Phlebitis (vein inflammation)

  • Rare: infection or bloodstream complications

  • Rare: infiltration or extravasation of fluids
