How To Use

  1. Wash and sanitize hands, wear sterile gloves.

  2. Open the sterile package carefully.

  3. Apply a tourniquet and identify suitable vein.

  4. Insert cannula bevel-up at a shallow angle.

  5. Confirm venous flashback, advance catheter, withdraw needle.

  6. Secure cannula with sterile tape/dressing.

  7. Connect to IV set or cap the port as required.

  8. Dispose of used needle in sharps container.


When Not to Use

  • If packaging is damaged or sterility is compromised

  • In patients with severely compromised veins where insertion is unsafe

  • Do not reuse or re-sterilize (single-use only)


Side Effects

  • Local site pain, swelling, or bruising

  • Risk of phlebitis (vein inflammation)

  • Rare: infection or bloodstream complications if aseptic technique not followed

  • Rare: infiltration or extravasation of fluids
