Bacticlor (500mg) Capsules contain Cefaclor, a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, effectively stopping the growth and spread of bacteria.

Uses

Bacticlor 500mg is prescribed for the treatment of:

Dosage

⚠️ Use only as prescribed by your doctor.

  • Adults: 500mg every 8–12 hours depending on infection severity

  • Children: Dose based on body weight, usually 20–40mg/kg/day in divided doses

  • Take capsules with a full glass of water, with or without food

  • Complete the full course of therapy even if symptoms improve


In Case of Overdose

  • Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

  • Action: Seek immediate medical attention


Missed Dose

  • Take the missed dose as soon as remembered

  • If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose

  • Do not double the dose


How To Use

  1. Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water

  2. Can be taken with or without food

When Not to Use

Do not use Bacticlor if:

  • Allergic to cefaclor or other cephalosporin antibiotics

  • Have history of severe penicillin allergy

  • Have kidney disease without consulting a doctor


Side Effects

  • Mild abdominal pain

  • Skin rash or itching

Rare / Serious:

  • Severe allergic reaction (swelling, difficulty breathing)

  • Liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes)
