E-Clar 250mg Tablets contain Clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, preventing the growth and spread of infection-causing bacteria. E-Clar is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections, skin infections, sinusitis, and certain ear and throat infections. It is also used in combination therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori, a bacteria linked to stomach ulcers.

Dosage

• Take the full course as directed, even if symptoms improve early.

In Case of Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or diarrhea. Seek immediate medical attention or contact your nearest healthcare facility in case of overdose.

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed tablet.

How To Use

1. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

2. Can be taken with or without food. Taking it with food may help reduce stomach discomfort.

3. Take at evenly spaced intervals for consistent effectiveness.

4. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms disappear early to prevent bacterial resistance.

When Not to Use

• If allergic to Clarithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics (e.g., Azithromycin, Erythromycin).

• In patients with severe liver disease or jaundice linked to previous antibiotic use.

• If taking medications like pimozide, cisapride, ergot derivatives, or certain statins (risk of serious interaction).

• Not to be used for viral infections like flu or the common cold.

Side Effects

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, taste changes.

• Less common: Headache, dizziness, skin rash, mild liver enzyme elevation.

• Rare but serious: Allergic reactions (swelling, rash, difficulty breathing), severe diarrhea (Clostridium difficile infection), or irregular heartbeat.
