Cardiosil 5mg Tablets contain Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chest pain (angina pectoris).
It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, allowing smoother blood flow and reducing the heart’s workload. By controlling blood pressure, Cardiosil helps lower the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.
Active Ingredient: Amlodipine Besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 5mg

Adults:
Usual dose: 5mg once daily.
May be increased to 10mg once daily if needed.
Elderly or liver-impaired patients: Start with lower doses as directed by your physician.
Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor — do not adjust dosage without consultation.
Symptoms: Severe dizziness, fainting, rapid heartbeat, or low blood pressure.
Action: Seek immediate medical attention or go to the nearest emergency center.
Take the missed dose as soon as remembered.
Skip it if it’s almost time for your next scheduled dose.
Do not double the next dose to make up for a missed one.
Take orally with a full glass of water, with or without food.
Try to take it at the same time each day to maintain steady levels.
Continue taking even if you feel well — high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Do not stop medication suddenly without consulting your doctor.

May interact with:
Other antihypertensives – additive blood pressure lowering effect
Simvastatin – limit simvastatin to ≤20mg daily
CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, erythromycin) – may increase Amlodipine levels
CYP3A4 inducers (e.g., rifampicin, carbamazepine) – may reduce Amlodipine effectiveness
Beta-blockers – may enhance blood pressure lowering effect

Keep out of reach of children.

Dispose of unused tablets safely; do not flush or throw in household waste.
