NovoRapid FlexPen contains Insulin Aspart (100IU/ml), a rapid-acting insulin used to control high blood sugar in patients with diabetes mellitus (type 1 and type 2). It helps lower blood glucose levels quickly after meals, reducing the risk of complications such as kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, and heart disease. NovoRapid is used for:
Treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus when oral medicines are insufficient
Rapid control of blood sugar spikes after meals
Preventing complications of uncontrolled diabetes (kidney, heart, nerve damage)
Dosage is individualized based on patient’s needs, diet, activity, and blood glucose levels.
Typical dose: Inject immediately before meals or up to 10 minutes after starting a meal.
Often used in basal-bolus insulin regimens (with long-acting insulin).
Always follow doctor’s instructions.
Symptoms: Severe hypoglycemia (sweating, tremors, dizziness, blurred vision, confusion, seizures).
Immediate action: Consume glucose tablets/sugar/honey.
Severe cases: May require IV glucose injection or glucagon in hospital.
If missed before a meal, take it as soon as you remember while eating.
If it is close to the next dose, skip the missed one – do not double dose.
Monitor blood sugar levels to prevent complications.

Store unopened pens in a refrigerator (2–8°C).
