Cardiolite 25mg Tablets contain Atenolol, a beta-blocker medicine that helps manage high blood pressure (hypertension), angina (chest pain), and certain heart rhythm disorders.
It works by slowing the heart rate, reducing the heart’s workload, and improving blood flow, which helps prevent heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular complications.

Adults:
Hypertension: Usually 25–50mg once daily; may be increased up to 100mg daily.
Angina: Typically 50–100mg daily (single or divided doses).
Arrhythmias: 50–100mg daily as prescribed.
Elderly or patients with kidney disease: Lower doses may be recommended.
Always follow your doctor’s instructions exactly.
Symptoms: Very slow heartbeat, severe dizziness, fainting, difficulty breathing, or bluish lips/fingers.
Action: Seek immediate medical attention or go to the nearest emergency department.
Take the missed dose as soon as remembered.
Skip if it’s nearly time for the next dose.
Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
Take orally with a full glass of water, preferably at the same time every day.
Can be taken with or without food.
Continue taking even if you feel well — do not stop suddenly without your doctor’s advice.

Bradycardia (slow heart rate)

Shock or very low blood pressure
Untreated pheochromocytoma (adrenal tumor)
Metabolic acidosis

Monitor heart rate and blood pressure regularly.
Avoid sudden discontinuation; dose should be reduced gradually.
Use with caution if you have diabetes, as Atenolol may mask signs of low blood sugar.
May worsen asthma or chronic lung disease — use cautiously.
Avoid alcohol as it can enhance dizziness or drowsiness.
Inform your doctor if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
May interact with:
Calcium channel blockers (verapamil, diltiazem) – risk of low heart rate or heart block
Digoxin – increased risk of slow heartbeat
Clonidine – risk of rebound hypertension if stopped abruptly
Insulin or oral antidiabetic agents – may hide hypoglycemia symptoms
NSAIDs – may reduce Atenolol’s blood pressure-lowering effect
Other antihypertensives – additive effect on blood pressure lowering
