Description:

Drate Plus D 70mg Tablets combine Alendronate Sodium (a bisphosphonate) and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) to effectively treat and prevent osteoporosis and bone weakness.

Alendronate helps prevent bone loss by inhibiting bone resorption, while Vitamin D3 improves calcium absorption, ensuring better bone mineralization and strength.
This once-weekly treatment reduces the risk of spinal, hip, and other bone fractures, particularly in postmenopausal women, elderly patients, and individuals on long-term corticosteroid therapy.

Ingredients:

Each tablet contains:

• Alendronate Sodium (as Alendronic Acid) – 70 mg

• Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) – typically 2800 IU (varies by manufacturer)

Inactive Ingredients:
Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, and purified water.

Uses:

Drate Plus D is used for:

Dosage:

• Recommended dose: 1 tablet (70 mg Alendronate + Vitamin D3) once weekly

• Take the tablet with a full glass of plain water (200 mL) on an empty stomach, preferably first thing in the morning.

• Remain upright (sitting or standing) for at least 30 minutes after swallowing the tablet.

💡 Do not chew or suck the tablet. Swallow whole.

In Case of Overdose:

Symptoms may include low calcium levels, muscle cramps, or stomach upset.
👉 Drink a full glass of milk and seek immediate medical help.
Do not induce vomiting and avoid lying down.

Missed Dose:

• If you miss your weekly dose, take it the next morning after remembering.

• Resume your regular schedule (same weekday).

• Do not take two tablets on the same day.

How To Use:

1. Take on an empty stomach with plain water only.

2. Swallow tablet whole; do not crush or chew.

3. Stay upright (sit or stand) for at least 30 minutes after taking it.

4. Do not eat, drink, or take any other medicines during this period.

5. Follow with breakfast and other medications after 30 minutes.

When Not to Use:

Do not use Drate Plus D if you:

• Are allergic to Alendronate or Vitamin D3

• Have esophageal disorders (e.g., difficulty swallowing, narrowing)

• Cannot sit or stand upright for at least 30 minutes

• Have low calcium levels (hypocalcemia)

• Have severe kidney impairment

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor

Side Effects:

Common:

• Heartburn, indigestion

• Abdominal pain or bloating

• Constipation or diarrhea

• Muscle, bone, or joint pain

Less Common but Serious:

• Chest pain or difficulty swallowing

• Jaw pain (osteonecrosis of the jaw)

• Vision changes or eye inflammation
