Description:

Brysk 20mg Tablets contain Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce excessive stomach acid production.
It helps treat conditions such as acid reflux (GERD), heartburn, gastritis, and stomach or duodenal ulcers.

Brysk provides fast and long-lasting relief from acidity, promotes healing of the esophagus, and prevents recurrence of acid-related disorders.


Ingredients:

Each tablet contains:

  • Esomeprazole (as Magnesium Trihydrate) – 20 mg

Inactive ingredients: Cellulose, povidone, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, and other excipients.

Dosage Form:

Uses:

Brysk 20mg Tablet is used for:

  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

  • Heartburn and acid indigestion

  • Peptic and duodenal ulcers

  • Erosive esophagitis

  • Zollinger–Ellison syndrome (excess stomach acid condition)

  • Prevention of NSAID-induced ulcers

  • Management of Helicobacter pylori infection (in combination with antibiotics)


Dosage:

  • Adults:

    • Usual dose: 20 mg once daily, preferably before breakfast.

    • For severe cases or erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily as prescribed.

  • Duration:

    • Typically 4–8 weeks or as directed by the physician.

  • Children (under 12 years): Use only if prescribed by a doctor.

Always follow your doctor’s exact dosage instructions.


In Case of Overdose:

Symptoms may include:

  • Confusion, drowsiness

  • Blurred vision

  • Rapid heartbeat

  • Nausea or vomiting

Missed Dose:

  • Take the missed dose as soon as you remember.

  • If it’s almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose.

  • Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.


How to Use:

  1. Take the tablet once daily, preferably in the morning before eating.

  2. Swallow whole with a glass of water — do not chew, crush, or split.

  3. Continue treatment for the full duration prescribed even if symptoms improve.

  4. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and spicy foods that may worsen acid reflux.


When Not to Use:

Do not use Brysk 20mg if you:

  • Are allergic to Esomeprazole, Omeprazole, or any PPI.

  • Have severe liver impairment.

  • Are taking nelfinavir (an HIV medication).

  • Have unexplained weight loss, vomiting blood, or black stools — seek medical evaluation first.


Side Effects:

Common side effects:

  • Headache

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea or constipation

  • Abdominal pain or bloating

  • Dry mouth

Less common/serious effects:

  • Dizziness or fatigue

  • Rash or itching

  • Low magnesium levels (cramps, irregular heartbeat)

  • Vitamin B12 deficiency with long-term use

  • Rare: Severe allergic reaction or kidney inflammation

Seek medical attention for persistent or severe side effects.


Precautions & Warnings:

  • Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible.

  • Long-term use may increase risk of bone fractures and vitamin/mineral deficiencies.

  • Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, lupus, or osteoporosis.

  • May mask symptoms of stomach cancer — consult your doctor if symptoms persist.

  • Safe use during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be discussed with your physician.


Drug Interactions:

Brysk may interact with:

  • Nelfinavir or Atazanavir (HIV drugs) – avoid use

  • Warfarin – may increase bleeding risk

  • Ketoconazole, Itraconazole – reduced absorption

  • Clopidogrel (Plavix) – reduced effectiveness

  • Digoxin – increased blood levels

  • Methotrexate – toxicity risk may increase

Always inform your doctor of all medications and supplements you use.


Storage/Disposal:

  • Store below 30°C, in a cool and dry place, away from sunlight and moisture.

  • Keep out of reach of children.

  • Do not use after expiry date printed on the pack.

  • Dispose of unused medicine responsibly; do not flush into drains.
