Gouric 80mg Tablets contain Febuxostat, a potent xanthine oxidase inhibitor that helps reduce high levels of uric acid in the blood. It is primarily used in the treatment and long-term management of chronic gout — a condition caused by uric acid crystal buildup in the joints leading to pain, redness, and swelling.
By lowering uric acid production, Gouric 80mg helps prevent gout flare-ups, joint inflammation, and complications associated with hyperuricemia.
Each tablet contains:
Febuxostat 80mg
Inactive ingredients: Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, povidone, and film coating materials.
Xanthine Oxidase Inhibitor
Tablet (Oral use)
Gouric 80mg is prescribed for:
Chronic management of gout
Treatment of hyperuricemia in patients with gout
Prevention of uric acid buildup in conditions associated with chemotherapy or renal dysfunction
Adults: Usually 1 tablet once daily, with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor.
Dosage may vary depending on serum uric acid levels and individual response.
Continue taking even if symptoms improve — stopping suddenly may increase uric acid levels.
Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or abnormal liver function.
🚨 Action: Seek immediate medical attention or visit the nearest emergency center.
Take as soon as you remember.
Skip if it’s almost time for the next dose.
Do not double dose to compensate for the missed one.
Swallow the tablet whole with water.
Can be taken with or without food.
Take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.
Continue therapy even during gout flare-ups unless advised otherwise by your doctor.

Have severe liver or kidney disease.

Regularly monitor uric acid and liver function during treatment.
Inform your doctor if you have heart problems, kidney impairment, or thyroid disorders.
May cause gout flares at the start of treatment — your doctor may prescribe an anti-inflammatory medicine during initial weeks.
Avoid alcohol and purine-rich foods (like red meat, shellfish) to help control uric acid levels.
Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly needed and under medical supervision.
Inform your doctor if you are using:
Azathioprine or Mercaptopurine – increases toxicity risk.
Theophylline – possible increased serum levels.
Warfarin or anticoagulants – monitor INR levels.
NSAIDs or corticosteroids – may increase side effects.
