Transamin Injection (500mg/5ml) contains Tranexamic Acid, a medicine used to control and prevent excessive bleeding. It works by blocking the breakdown of blood clots, thereby helping to stop bleeding in conditions like heavy menstrual bleeding, nosebleeds, surgical bleeding, and trauma. It is also prescribed in cases of hereditary angioedema.

To control and prevent excessive bleeding due to:
Surgery (cardiac, liver, gynecological, orthopedic, dental)
Trauma or injury
Postpartum hemorrhage
Nosebleeds (epistaxis)
Heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia)
Treatment of hereditary angioedema attacks
Adults:
Usual dose: 500–1000 mg IV, 2–3 times daily depending on condition.
Dose and frequency are adjusted based on severity and medical need.
Children: Dose based on body weight and medical supervision.
⚠️ Always follow the exact dose prescribed by your doctor.
Symptoms may include dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or low blood pressure.
Seek emergency medical attention immediately.
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible if still required.
Do not double dose to make up for the missed one.
Administered via intravenous (IV) injection or slow infusion.
Should be given only by a healthcare professional.
Do not self-inject without medical training.
Allergy to Tranexamic Acid.
Patients with active blood clots (thrombosis, DVT, pulmonary embolism).
History of seizures.
Severe kidney impairment (unless dose adjusted).
Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, muscle pain, fatigue.
Serious: Vision problems (color vision disturbances), seizures, blood clots.
Use with caution in:
Patients with kidney disease
History of seizures
Risk of blood clot formation
Regular monitoring of vision may be required during prolonged use.
Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless prescribed.
Risk of clotting increases with:
Oral contraceptives (birth control pills)
Other clot-promoting drugs (e.g., factor IX complex, anti-inhibitor coagulant concentrates)
Inform your doctor of all medications you are taking.
Store below 25°C.
