Penro (1000mg/20ml) Injection contains Meropenem, a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the carbapenem class. It is widely used to treat severe bacterial infections resistant to other antibiotics, particularly hospital-acquired infections. Penro works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death.
It is typically given in hospitals for critical infections such as pneumonia, intra-abdominal infections, meningitis, urinary tract infections, and sepsis.

Long-term use may cause fungal or bacterial superinfections
May interact with valproic acid (reduces effectiveness of valproic acid, increasing seizure risk)
Probenecid (increases Meropenem levels)
Other antibiotics and seizure medicines should be used with caution
Store below 25°C in a dry place
Protect from light and moisture
Reconstituted solution should be used immediately or within recommended timeframe
Dispose of unused medicine as per hospital guidelines
