Provas (300mg/2ml) Injection contains Tranexamic Acid, an antifibrinolytic medicine that helps reduce or prevent excessive bleeding. It works by preventing the breakdown of blood clots, making it useful in surgeries, trauma, heavy menstrual bleeding, nosebleeds, dental procedures, and other conditions where bleeding needs to be controlled.

Adults:
Surgical bleeding: 10–15 mg/kg IV before surgery, then repeated every 6–8 hours

Children: Dose adjusted by weight and condition

Allergy to Tranexamic Acid
History of blood clots (DVT, pulmonary embolism, stroke)
Active intravascular clotting conditions
Severe kidney disease (without dose adjustment)
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding in brain)
Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness
Less common: Low blood pressure, muscle pain, fatigue, visual disturbances
Rare but serious: Seizures, blood clots (DVT, PE, stroke)
Use with caution in patients with kidney disease (dose adjustment needed)
Monitor for signs of blood clots
Should not be used long-term without medical supervision
Avoid driving if experiencing dizziness or vision problems
Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only if prescribed by a doctor
Oral contraceptives → ↑ risk of blood clots
Factor IX complex concentrates → ↑ risk of thrombosis
Anticoagulants (warfarin, heparin) → reduced effectiveness of therapy
Other pro-coagulant medicines → ↑ clotting risk
Store below 25°C, away from direct sunlight
Keep ampoules in original packaging
Dispose of safely as per medical waste guidelines
