Dormicum Injection contains Midazolam, a short-acting benzodiazepine used as a sedative, anxiolytic, and pre-anesthetic agent. It provides rapid onset of sedation and relaxation, making it suitable for use before surgery, diagnostic procedures, or in intensive care for sedation and seizure control.
Active Ingredient: Midazolam Hydrochloride (5mg/5ml per ampoule)
Excipients: Sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid/sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, and water for injection
Benzodiazepine (CNS depressant, sedative-hypnotic)
Injection (solution for IV or IM use)
Strength: 5mg/5ml per ampoule (10 ampoules per pack)
Sedation before surgery or medical procedures

Adults (IV):
Preoperative sedation: 1–2.5mg IV slowly (titrate as needed)
Conscious sedation: 0.5–2.5mg IV over 2 minutes, repeat if required
Induction of anesthesia: 0.1–0.2mg/kg IV
Children:
IV: 0.05–0.1mg/kg, maximum dose depends on indication
IM (preoperative sedation): 0.1–0.15mg/kg
⚠️ Dose adjusted based on age, weight, and clinical condition.
Symptoms: Extreme drowsiness, confusion, slowed breathing, loss of consciousness, coma
Management: Supportive care, airway management; Flumazenil (benzodiazepine antagonist) may be used as antidote under supervision
Not applicable for hospital/surgical settings
For ICU sedation, missed doses must be adjusted by the healthcare provider
Administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM) by trained healthcare professionals only
Slow injection recommended to avoid respiratory depression

CNS depressants (opioids, alcohol, barbiturates): Increased sedation and respiratory depression
Antifungal drugs (ketoconazole, itraconazole): ↑ Midazolam levels
Macrolide antibiotics (erythromycin, clarithromycin): ↑ Midazolam effects
HIV protease inhibitors (ritonavir): Potent increase in Midazolam concentration
Store at 20–25°C, protected from light
Keep ampoules in original packaging until use
Discard unused solution safely according to hospital guidelines
